Dogmothers Holiday Novella CoverAgnes Santorini, known as “Yiayia” to her Greek clan, only has one thing on her Christmas list…a brown short-haired dachshund, certain that pup is the one who can save her aging heart.  When she learns that a local man has this very dog for adoption, she and fellow Dogmother, Gramma Finnie, join forces with their great-granddaughter and set off to get their paws on the pooch.

But things don’t go quite as smoothly as expected. A quick walk through town turns complicated and before long, a series of unexpected events has two grannies and one girl dashing through the snow with two dogs in tow. But even if they manage to get Yiayia’s dream dog under their Christmas tree, that might not be where the little fellow belongs. And maybe, just maybe, Yiayia’s heart can be healed by a completely different kind of love…the kind that only comes at Christmas.

Synopsis:

51D+Arsd01LFlora has masqueraded as a French maid for years. Though she despises hiding her skill at the piano and has no innate fondness for mending, she is happy to no longer be on the run. When a handsome earl who sent butterflies fluttering through her chest as a child discovers her French is atrocious, Flora requires a new position, lest her true identity be discovered.

Christmas has never been Lord Wolfe McIntyre’s favorite season. His parents never celebrated it, and he never imagined he would succumb to sentimentality as an adult. After all, he runs a gaming hell. But when his sister’s engagement is broken, Wolfe vows to host a magnificent holiday ball so she can find a husband before the next season. The only problem? His lack of knowledge about the holiday.

Wolfe is shocked when his friend’s maid appears at his manor house in Scotland. When he hired a Christmas consultant, he expected a stern Bavarian woman with a knowledge of Yule logs, not an alluring young woman whom he last saw claiming a blatantly false identity and who seems distressed at seeing him. Wolfe is even more shocked when he discovers he… desires her. Earls are not supposed to find their servants appealing, no matter how much they fill their homes with Yuletide joy and music. But perhaps there’s a reason Flora looks familiar...

My Thoughts:

Flora has been masquerading as a French maid for years. Though she despises having to hide her skill at the piano and has no innate fondness for mending, she is happy to no longer be on the run.

When he hired a Christmas consultant, he was expecting a stern Bavarian woman with a knowledge of Yule logs, not an alluring young woman whom he last saw claiming a blatantly false identity and who seems distressed at seeing him.

Why does Flora seem so familiar and what is she hiding from.

This is a delightful holiday romance with a touch of humor. This is the shortest read of the three books in this series and is easily read in one sitting.

I gave this book 4.5 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization.

This short tale has just enough sensuality and humor that you should breeze through the read.

I received a complimentary ARC of this title to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Don’t Miss The Newest Book in This Series

“A Holiday Proposal”

or “Borrowing The Bluestocking”

Wedding Trouble Book 6

Available For Pre-Order

Release Date: November 19th, 2019

I’m not certain of the final title as Amazon lists it as A Holiday Proposal
and Bianca lists it as Borrowing the Bluestocking on Facebook.
At any rate it is available to per-order now.

Tristan Lark, Earl of Burley, is a lord with a plan. Hades’ Lair, London’s top gaming hell, is for sale, and Tristan intends to buy it. He even has an investor in mind: a foreign prince. Unfortunately, this investor will only work with married men, since he sees marriage as a sign of responsibility. The rule doesn’t faze Tristan: he’s hired an actress to play his wife at a house party to impress the prince.

When the actress doesn’t appear, Tristan is in trouble.

Confirmed bluestocking Irene Carmichael would rather study weather patterns than dress in fine gowns, but when the best friend of her older brother asks her for help, she agrees, even if it means sneaking into his manor house every night for a week to play his wife.

Unfortunately, neither of them had counted on the snow.
