My Thoughts:
If you read book #2 in this new series and thought it excellent then you will be thrilled with book #3.
This somewhat holiday based new series by Erica Ridley has started off with a bang! It is simply irresistible.
I liked the beginning of the series when I read Once Upon a Duke. I fell in love with the Twelve Dukes of Christmas when I read Kiss of a Duke. I stated then that it was one of the most entertaining books I have read this year and it is but Wish Upon a Duke may outshine it.
I am now very much looking forward to the next installment in this series.
I gave this book 5.0 of 5.0 stars for storyline, humor and characterization. This series is so enjoyable and an easy read.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book by invitation to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

“I went to London once,” Gloria admitted. “To try my hand at a Season.”
Christopher frowned. “I cannot imagine you unsuccessful at attracting a suitor. Any man who took the time to get to know you—”
“I did have a suitor.” Her throat tightened painfully. “But after he sailed off to make his fortune, neither the contract nor my charms was enough to bring him back.”
His lip curled in contempt. “What could possibly be more important than you?”
The unintentional sweetness of the question squeezed her chest with surprising power.
Pride did not allow her to list the innumerable attractions her suitor had found more attractive: India, adventure, money. Anything but a marriage to her.
“Perhaps he still plans to return someday,” she attempted to jest.
Christopher’s dark gaze was hot on hers. “He doesn’t deserve the chance. Please tell me you are not waiting around for that imbecile to saunter back into your life.”
She shook her head. “Not for a long time.”
“Good,” he said fiercely, and slanted his mouth over hers.
She melted into him. He was incensed on her behalf, every muscle tensed as though preparing to leap up to protect her from harm right here and now. But his kiss told another story. His mouth hadn’t come to hers in anger, but desire. As though the electricity building between them had struck to galvanize them together.
He cradled her face in his hands. His kiss was not tentative or polite but raw. A blatant claiming. Not a bright spot in the night, but a sky full of shooting stars. Instead of promises, each kiss demanded complete possession. She was happy to oblige.
She parted her lips and offered him more. He wasted no time in tasting her. In proving once and for all how right the wrong man could feel. His kisses were potent. Drugging. She gripped him for strength—and because she didn’t want the kisses to stop. He tasted like danger and romance and possibility. As though the stars had come out just for them.

Charlotte harrumphed to hide her amusement. “How are you at pressing wrinkles from gowns?”
“Let me assure you,” Mr. Fairfax informed her with utter seriousness, “that I have never worn a wrinkled gown in all my life.”
“Very gentlemanly.” She tried not to smile. “Let’s see your skill as maid-of-all-work, then. My gowns are in the wardrobe, as is my traveling iron. See what you can do.”
“At your service.” He bowed, then turned and marched to the wardrobe like a soldier off to war.
Now that he couldn’t see her, she let herself grin. The man was incorrigible… but she couldn’t help but find his frankness humanizing and his silliness refreshing. “You’re certain you know what you’re about with those gowns?”
“You will think my valet pressed them,” he called back in a tone filled with such portent that Charlotte half expected her muslins to be dotted with burns in the shape of smoothing irons.
It would almost be worth it, just to have this one night. This memory of a man above her station treating her as if she were above his. Of being an equal, rather than an object incapable of feelings or rights of her own. Of feeling… happy. She hugged herself in astonishment. When was the last time she’d felt safe enough and carefree enough to be happy?
She gazed wistfully at his strong back as he placed the iron in the fire. He smoothed out the first gown on the chaise longue before dampening the wrinkled material with water from the pitcher.
A man like this was even more dangerous than the sort who usually approached her, she realized in surprise. A man like this wouldn’t just take what he wanted. He’d make her want to give it to him of her own free will. Desire him. Long for his kisses. Plead for more.
She forced herself to look away.
No. She would not be like her mother. She had promised herself that the first time she’d seen her mother cry. Charlotte’s life would be different. She’d find a way to be respectable if it killed her.
Which meant keeping her distance from the tempting Mr. Fairfax. No matter what happened.
