Publisher’s Description:

lov_featAppearances can be deceiving…

Vice merchant Maxwell Gideon is wickedly handsome, sinfully arrogant, and devilishly ruthless. Rumor has it, his gaming hell has the power to steal souls and grant miracles. Truth is, Max only owns half of The Cloven Hoof. He’d buy out his silent partner if he knew the man’s identity. But it’s hard to focus on business matters when a fallen angel tumbles right into one’s lap…

Miss Bryony Grenville has a well-earned reputation as an unrepentant hoyden. But even the gossipiest of the pinch-faced matrons ruling High Society could never imagine the daughter of a baron secretly financing the ton’s most infamous gambling parlor. Its maddening, sexy proprietor doesn’t suspect a thing… and two can play at temptation!

My Thoughts:

I loved this newest release in Erica Ridley’s Rogues to Riches Series.

Bryony is quite the character. She is unrepentant of her slightly mannish ways. Is it not just like this daughter of a baron to secretly finance an infamous gambling parlor a fact that even it’s owner is unaware of.

Maxwell Gordon is determined to buy out his secret co-owner of the Cloven Hoof. He has no idea who it is. When he discovers the identity of this person he is surprised to find a woman behind the mask.

Will their clash of wills be the end of what could be a magical relationship or will they come together to create something more?

I gave this newest book in this series 4.75 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 3.5 of 5.0 flames. The heat between this hero and heroine is palpable and makes for some very sensuous and heated exchanges.

I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book by invitation to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

A brand new series for fans of all things related to history, romance, adventure, faith, and family trees.
Love and Adventure Are Discovered on the Wilderness Road

And she sets her sights on learning more about their scout, Thomas Bledsoe. Thomas’s job is to get settlers safely across the Kentucky Wilderness Road to their destination while keeping an ear open for news of Shawnee unrest. But naïve Kate’s inquisitive nature could put them both in the middle of a rising tide of conflict. Is there more to Thomas’s story than he is willing to tell? Lady Delia Alban absolutely cannot marry the handsome rake, Roderick Maddox, 895244945fourth Duke of Manchester, despite her brother Stone’s insistence she do just that. Though he has long reformed his ways, he steals her breath away every time their eyes meet and she simply doesn’t deserve that kind of happiness. Not after the death of her brother, Reginald. She must pay penance, because, if not for her, he would still be alive.

Roderick Maddox, has known for years he would marry Delia. Before Reginald’s death, he made a promise to his friend, not only would he care for Reginald’s sister, but he would reform himself into the type of man Delia deserved. Six siblings unite after the death of their parents around their eldest brother, Stone. They consider blood to be a binding oath and vow to protect one another. They all must face their own demons as they find love and their places in the world.
