Publisher’s Description:

British journalist Howland Brandt finds himself stranded deep in the heart of Bohemia. Seeking shelter from the frigid, snowy night, he stumbles upon a secluded chateau where Countess Ludmila Riga offers him a bed. The price? A night of sin in her arms.

Mila relishes having the Englishman at her mercy, but, before their romance comes to an end, she must accept that true love is a partnership.

My Thoughts:

I was at first intimidated by the sheer number of chapters in this book but although many they were short. This is my first read by this author but will not be my last. Her photo on this website looks very much like another author favorite of mine so I researched and found they aren’t the same person although they could be twins.

Howland Brandt finds himself lost in a snowstorm in the Bohemian countryside. Nearly frozen he is in need of shelter when he finds himself on the doorsteps of Mila. She is mistrustful due to her cruel husband from whom she is hiding.
How will this sometimes humorous tale play out?

I found this to be a delightful and quick read. Don’t let the number of chapters scare you away. They are short and you will find yourself more than halfway through this read before you know it.

I gave this book 4.25 of 5.0 stars for a well thought out storyline and characterization. The intimacy and heat level get 3.75 of 5.0 flames from this reader. The intimate scenes are very hot but the humor tones it down to a level which is just over warm.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

But one man, Selwyn, is intrigued by the intelligent and high-spirited girl. Selwyn sends Catheryn a love letter as a joke, disguising it as though it is from one of her father’s thanes. Catheryn is fascinated by the letter, and cannot imagine who would be capable of sending a poem of such imagination and beauty. When Selwyn offers to help Catheryn identify the mysterious suitor, she accepts, and they start to realise that they have more in common than they thought. Soon, Catheryn finds herself falling in love with Selwyn instead… But the strict hierarchy of Anglo-Saxon England stands in their way. Selwyn, a steward, could never be considered Catheryn’s equal, let alone an eligible suitor. Will they manage to stay together despite the odds? Or will duty tear Selwyn and Catheryn apart?

Normandy. 1067.

Lady Catheryn, an Anglo-Saxon noblewoman, is taken against her will to Normandy after the invasion. She arrives, a prisoner, at the castle of Lord Geffrei, a ruthless invader who hopes to gain a ransom for her. When Queen Matilda, William the Conqueror’s wife, sees her plight, she takes pity on her. Catheryn is sent to the castle of the noble FitzOsberns – but will her new captivity be any better than the cruelty she faced at Geffrei’s hands? She finds her hostess cold and embittered, but when her husband William FitzOsbern returns from the Conquest, Catheryn’s heart is torn by unwanted emotions. She becomes entangled in the quarrels and heartbreaks of her jailers even as she tries to remember her place among them. Is she falling in love with the man who helped to destroy her homeland?

Publisher’s Description:

Fooling Nazi espionage may cost Lenny the trust of the girl who captured his heart. Will Natasha discover his secret reports, disguised as love letters to another woman?

In these letters, Lenny gives the enemy misleading information about allied plans for D-Day. Once Natasha arrives in London, he takes her for a ride on his Harley throughout England, from the White Cliffs of Dover to a village near an underground ammunition depot in Staffordshire. When he is wounded in a horrific explosion, she brings him back to safety, only to discover the other woman’s letter to him. Will love survive the test of war?

In the past Natasha wrote, with girlish infatuation, “He will be running his fingers down, all the way down to the small of my back, touching his lips to my ear, breathing his name, breathing mine. Here I am, dancing with air.” In years to come, she will begin to lose her memory, which will make Lenny see her as fragile. “I gather her gently into my arms, holding her like a breath.” But right now, she is at her peak. She is ready to take charge of the course of their story.

Dancing with Air is a standalone WWII romance, as well as the 4th volume of the family saga series Still Life with Memories, one of family sagas best sellers of all time. If you like family saga romance, wounded warrior romance, military romance or romantic suspense, you will find that this love story, twisting and turning through its marital issues, is a unique melding of them all.
