Publisher’s Description:

A modern woman thrust back into the brutal past. A medieval highlander who lost everything dear to him. Why has fate brought these two broken souls together?

Carol Harper didn’t want to travel through time. She only wanted to see if the ancient ring she found would fit on her finger. A single touch and she’s back in the Middle Ages, held against her will by an enormous highlander and his army.

Angus MacClean is raiding with his fellow warriors when a strange woman appears out of nowhere. His clan believe witchcraft brought her into their midst but Angus has no fear of sorcery. Only one thing frightens him, the way his beautiful captive makes him feel.

To successfully evade the wicked English lord who hunts them both, they must put aside their burning desire. Fail and they risk capture by the cruellest of villains, a man who wants Angus dead and Carol all to himself.

Highlander’s Voyage is a standalone time travel romance. If you like rugged Highland warriors, a mysterious medieval world, and a feisty modern heroine, you’re sure to love this scintillating story.

My Thoughts:

I really liked this well written debut novel by this author.

Written in two of my favorite genres, Highlander’s Voyage is a must read from this new author.
Scottish, Highlander romance is a favorite of mine and throw in a time traveling modern day heroine for good measure and you have just the right mix to keep this reader’s attention. This is particularly true if the historical facts are close enough to being true for the time periods.

I gave this book 4.5 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 3.25 of 5.0 flames.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed. These thoughts are solely my own.

Publisher’s Description:

Dashing and rakish by day, secretive and daring by night, Reed Valentine, Duke of Keswick’s uncanny ability to lie at a moment’s notice makes him an ideal candidate to spy for His Majesty’s Secret Service. But now that the war is over, and Napoleon is exiled to the island of St. Helena, he finds himself adrift. The life of a wealthy nobleman isn’t enough to satisfy him.
When the government tasks him with one last mission—to find out who is trying to kill Napoleon—Reed takes on the job with gusto. Disguising himself, he slips into the Romani world while convinced that one of them will know who was responsible for the attempt.
Orelia finds herself charmed by the stranger in their midst. When he comes to her rescue, however, that infatuation quickly comes to an end. As far as Orelia is concerned, the Romanis are being used as scapegoats—as usual. She’s determined to prove Reed wrong.
Together, they set out to find the truth. With their combined quick tongues and ability to slip in and out of society, it should be easy. But the more time spent together, the harder it becomes to understand—why can’t a duke and a poor gypsy girl be together? Will their wits be enough to carry them through their treacherous journey and bring them together, or will their differences and the danger force them apart?

Publisher’s Description:

The first rule of the Spinsters Club is: You do not talk about the Spinsters Club.

The second rule of the Spinsters Club is: You do not talk about the Spinsters Club.

The third rule…

Well, Merry understands the rules of the Spinsters Club fully, considering it was her idea in the first place. When one of her good friends loses her heart to an utter rogue and is ruined forever, she’s determined that the life of a spinster is for her. Thankfully, she’s not alone. Her three dearest friends have had their share of heartbreak and resolve to join her. No matter what the demanding mamas and papas of the world say, they will not give up their spinsterhood.

Particularly not to the handsome Lord Harcourt Easton, the Earl of Langley. Merry has always liked Harcourt—after all he is her brother’s best friend—but she cannot fathom his sudden interest in her. After all, he was well known to be quite the rogue at times and she’s hardly the sort to attract the attention of a rake.

But Harcourt has loved Merry for some time now. And he’s determined to make her see that. If only he could get past this stubborn determination that she should never marry and convince her he’s the man for her.

The death of her father and some strange incidents that put Merry in danger might not be ideal circumstances to woo a woman, but Harcourt is willing to make the best of a dire situation—especially while Merry needs a shoulder to cry on.

Harcourt could well be the most amazing man she knows, and Merry cannot help but be grateful for his support, but she cannot very well turn her back on the Spinsters Club so soon…can she?
