Publisher’s Description:

The men in Nicole McLaughlin’s Man Enough series are tough Alphas devoted to serving their country and the women who love them.

National Guardsman Aiden King has been attracted to Hannah Walters for a while, but he never made a move because of her close relationship with his best friend. But when circumstances change, Aiden is surprised when his friend gives his blessing. Problem is, there’s a reason he’s still alone after all these years, and as much as he wants her, that secret keeps him from acting on his desires.

Hannah has finally decided to wait for the kind of love you read about in books and see in movies. After her failed engagement, Aiden’s unassuming support has become a touchstone for Hannah. It soon becomes apparent that he may be exactly the kind of man she’s been looking for. But the closer they become, the more he keeps her at arm’s length.

When Aiden suggests a road trip to take Hannah’s mind off her troubles, the two of them go on a journey neither one expected. She just hopes that the final destination is them together for good.

My Thoughts:

This convoluted tale of a dumped fiance and a man with an abused past carries us back to some of the characters in the first book I read in this series “Should’ve Been You”.
Now we are treated to Aiden and Hannah’s story.
This tale carries the couple on a road trip to pay a surprise visit to Aiden’s mother who he hasn’t seen since she abandoned him to his Grandmother when he was very young. Aiden’s grandmother has recently died and this was the catalyst that brought this couple closer. Although they both have been attracted to each other for sometime. neither one has acted on their attraction.
Will this journey to his past lead to the end for them as friends or to something more intriguing?
I gave this mostly sweet romance 4.25 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 3 of 5 flames.. Aiden’s abused past has prevented anything more than a heated kiss between these two prior to this trip.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book by invitation from the publisher to read and review.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Buchman had me at page one. Entertaining and full of emotion throughout the entire tale. –Fresh Fiction “Where Dreams Are Born”

-a Where Dreams romance (formerly Angelo’s Hearth)-
—–
One calendar. Twelve lighthouses. Two hearts.

Cassidy Knowles, the nation’s fastest rising food-and-wine critic. Her father, a small-time vintner, leaves a final gift: a calendar of Pacific Northwest lighthouses, a dozen thin letters, and a deathbed promise to visit one each month. She can handle that.

Russell Morgan, #28 on the latest “most eligible” list and the last guy on the planet Cassidy wants. Fine with him. She’s an over-privileged little twit. He sets his own course by a friend’s calendar of lighthouses. A sailing voyage that keeps guiding him to the one woman in all Seattle who irritates him the most.

Where can two hearts chart the same course? Where Dreams Are Born, in the warmth around Angelo’s Hearth.

Publisher’s Description:

What would you do to get your happily ever after?

Libby Saunders, who spent the first seventeen years of her life as an ugly duckling, bleaches her hair and drops forty pounds in order to get her fairytale ending. Once she evolves into a beautiful swan, the handsome princes are tripping each other’s royal steeds in order to get a date with her. But while the princes in fairy tales may be perfect gentlemen, Libby finds that her real life princes tend to be somewhat less than perfect. Actually, they tend to be a bunch of two-timing jerks.

Will Kaplan, the roommate of Libby’s latest boyfriend, is definitely not her idea of a handsome prince. He’s missing a cleft in his chin, he doesn’t have a British accent or even a French or Italian accent, and he rides a wheelchair rather than a white stallion. But the more Libby gets to know Will, the more she starts to wonder if handsome princes are really all they’re cracked up to be. And maybe a nice, ordinary drake is the only one who can give a former ugly duckling the happily ever after she’s been waiting for.
