Publisher’s Description:

Kenzie Jacobs is fascinated by a portrait of the roguish Highlander, Black Ben, which hangs in her ancestral home. There’s a mystery surrounding his death, and Kenzie longs to solve it by traveling through time to 17th century Scotland—and perhaps meet the gorgeous laird who haunts her dreams.

Black Ben, Laird of Ross, suited his dark name more than ever since his wife died in childbirth. He has vowed never to marry again. But Kenzie is an intoxicating elixir and even more potent than whiskey. As confusing and crazy as she may seem, he can’t get her out of his system. But there’s no way they can ever work, as she does not fit into his plans.

Fate has brought them together, and Ben can’t stop Kenzie from returning to her time, though he would do anything–except marry her–to keep her with him. Kenzie has a life to get back to but leaving her favorite, though infuriating, Highlander behind, might be the toughest thing she’ll ever have to do.

My Thoughts:

I have now read both books that have been written in this series.

They are both time travel romances but are unrelated as far as storyline, but they do contain at least one character in common. They are standalone titles and you do not need to read them in order to get the full enjoyment of each one.

Kenzie Jacobs is drawn to a portrait that hangs in her ancestral home of the Highlander Black Ben. There isn’t much known about the roguish man as he disappeared and no one knew what happened to him.

Kenzie has an unusual ability to travel through time to an appointed destination. So due to her fascination with Ben she decides to travel back to his time to find out for herself what happened to the roguish Highlander.

Never did she imagine that she would fall in love with him and he with her.

What can this mutual attraction lead to?

I gave this book a 4.25 of 5.0 star rating for characterization and storyline. It gets a sensual rating of 4 of 5 flames. These two can not keep their hands off each other once their attraction is perceived by the other.

I received a complimentary digital ARC from both the Author, via an ARC sent directly to my kindle and the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Publisher’s Description:

Time-traveling isn’t what Abigail Cross had in mind for her Scottish vacation, nor was a potential marriage to the Laird Aedan Macleod. The fact that the obnoxious, yet hot, and definitely sexy Highlander sees the world very differently than she does, is beside the point.

Aedan Macleod knows what he wants in a wife, and Abigail certainly doesn’t meet his Highland standard, even though he must rein in his desire, because beautiful, opinionated Abigail would never suit as a laird’s wife.

Tempers flare yet passion is undeniable, as Abby navigates her way in seventeenth century Scotland—without toilet paper. When two rival clans threaten the maddening twenty-first century minx who’s captured Laird Aedan’s heart, the mighty Highlander is willing to sacrifice everything to keep Abigail safe.

My Thoughts:

A meddlesome sister in medieval times. A less than happy young woman in modern times. A spell that brings present day to the past!
These are the elements of this well written, comical at times time travel romance by one of my favorite authors of historical and time travel romance novels.

Can this medieval hero and this twenty-first century heroine make each other happy?

Will Abby deign to stay in the past without the comforts of 2017?
As per usual by Tamara Gill I was not disappointed in this read.

I gave this book 4.75 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 4 of 5 flames.
This book is both delightful and at time comical.

I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the author via a personally sent pdf. and the publisher via Netgalley.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I have read twice now prior to publication and have reviewed voluntarily.
