Publisher’s Description:

They are the infamous lords, unrepentant rogues whose bad behavior makes for good gossip among the ton. But these sexy scoundrels have stories no one knows. And it takes a special touch to reveal the true hearts behind their devilish disguises . . .

Known as a brazen philanderer, Hayden Milton, Earl of Westfield, is almost done in by a vengeful mistress who aims a gun at a rather essential part of his anatomy—but ends up wounding his thigh instead. Recuperating in his London townhouse, Hayden is confronted by his new medical attendant. Sophia Camden intrigues him, for behind her starched uniform is an enticing beauty better suited for bedding than dispensing salves and changing bandages.

Unshaken by his arrogance, not to mention impropriety, Sophia offers Hayden a dare: allow her ten days to prove her competency. If she resigns in exasperation like her two predecessors, she will be beholden to this wicked seducer. As a battle of wills begins, Sophia finds herself distracted by the earl’s muscular physique . . . and discovers that the man within longs only for a second chance to love.

My Thoughts:

This wonderfully written debut novel is going to make it difficult to write anything to surpass this one.
I was engrossed in this book from page one.
Hayden, after narrowly escaping losing a very essential appendage, seems bent on getting rid of every nurse procured to make certain he heals.

Sophia isn’t easy to scare off. She is bent on becoming a doctor in spite of the undeniable fact that women aren’t allowed to study medicine. She embarks on a dare with Hayden that she can last ten days. If she can last, Hayden will owe her a boon. If not she will owe him, but what will he collect?

A battle of wills ensues. Will it lead to a lasting love?

This book starts off with so much humor then turns much more serious. and poignant.
The humorous part made me laugh out loud. The serious part made me want to cry.

I gave this exceptional debut novel 4.75 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 4.5 of 5.0 flames.

The intimacy between our hero and heroine is a well drawn out part of this story. Sparks fly when these two get together.

I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

This Series:

  2. Never Deceive a Viscount (Coming May 29, 2018)

About The Author:

Renee Ann Miller writes historical romances that are sometimes witty, sometimes dark, but always sexy. She was a 2015 & 2016 finalist in the Golden Heart Contest® from Romance Writers of America®. She penned her first book at the tender age of seven and even drew the impressive stick figures—though clearly those characters weren’t as spicy as the ones she writes now.

Renee lives in the Northeast with her husband and during winters is always anxious for spring. She enjoys gardening, DIY projects, and pastries. And though she grew up in a household of hockey fans, she now watches football, which is unavoidable in her house.

Publisher’s Description:

From the author of the Kellington series of Regency romances, comes the fourth book in the Emerson saga.

Nicholas Chilcott is the Earl of Layton, though his biological father was actually the late Earl of Ridgeway. When Nick’s cousin Simon challenges him for the title, Nick must travel to the coastal village of Weymouth to uncover secrets from the past. But, instead, he finds the woman he wants to build his future with.

Kate Winston serves as the church archivist, while trying to evade the unwanted advances of the new vicar. When a handsome earl comes to town on a mission, she cannot resist helping him, though she has no desire to join his world in the ton.

As Nick and Kate work to find answers to the past, they discover a passion that neither can deny.

ALWAYS BELIEVE IN LOVE is, technically, historical romance. But it is very light on the history and rather heavy on the passion. It has adult situations and graphic sexual content. You will not like this book if you don’t like those things. It does contain some information about fish. You might like that part of the story if you like fish.

Publisher’s Description:

Neither wants the other, but how can they continue to deny the passion between them?

Fleeing London, and scandal, Lady Clarissa Burton runs directly into the wife-hunting Earl of Dumfries while traveling on a rutted Scottish road. She wanted peace in Scotland, not a tall and brooding laird who makes her forget that handsome lords are nothing but trouble.

Having spent years of his life fighting English wars, Ewan McDougal, Earl of Dumfries, wants nothing to do with England, or its people, for as long as he lives. He wants a nice Scottish lass to warm his bed and raise a family. So why can’t Ewan stop thinking about Lady Clarissa’s pouty lips or her curves made for a man’s hands? And what happened to her in London that has her running scared?
