Some ladies wish upon stars… only a death bed wish would work with the Duke of Wardington.
Lady Margaret Kay, after surviving a fever outbreak, is given a great gift:
She is free to do, say, and go, wherever she pleases.
But … before she can truly embrace her scandalous future, she must keep a promise she made to a friend and in order to keep that promise, she’ll need assistance.
It will be none other than Lord Roger Abbey.
He knows exactly what freedom is like and is more than willing to accompany Margaret on her journey of discovery.
What he isn’t willing to do is fall under the beautiful woman’s spell…
That, however, can’t be helped where a Kay woman is involved.
The lady is irresistible.
But staying together will require them to stay alive.
When Margaret’s promise puts their lives in danger, he’ll have to save both their heads just to keep her hand in marriage!
But can love conquer a meddling family, a man with dark intentions, and the fears of the past?
For happiness, they’ll try anything.
A young lady who once almost caused a scandal is sent away to school to evade doing just that. While at school she and a great many other students contract an illness that is the death of most of them. Margaret, however survives through her own will and the promise of her uncle the Duke of Wardington.
With her survival she intends to carry out a promise made to her friend upon the girl’s death. She needs help in doing so. This help arrives in the guise of Lord Roger Abbey.
Will this new found freedom and this deathbed promise lead these two to an everlasting love?
This is another well written book by Eleanor Meyers. When our heroine gives her attention to an elderly dog to try to will her to live longer, I was totally lost.
I gave this book 4.25 of 5 stars for storyline and character development. There were times when I was confused by all of the sisters with names beginning with “M”, but overall it was another good, sweet/clean regency by this author.
Because of the sweet nature the sensuality rating is 1.5 of 5 flames. There are only a few heated kisses in the story.
I read this book thorough the KindleUnlimited Program as well as an Advance Reader Copy in digital format via BookFunnel. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Life isn’t easy in 1798 Ireland. Rebellions are rising across the countryside, and the English can be cruel overlords. However, this brutality hasn’t reached the country estate of Strokestown.
Theodosia Latimer and her grandfather Reginald are on a mission to discover the past. They’re determined to excavate some ancient mounds on the Strokestown estate. But when they discover an imprisoned goddess straight out of Ireland’s rich mythological history, they’re both amazed and frightened.
Tasked with integrating this primeval warrior woman into polite society, they develop both respect and fear for the powerful goddess. Will they be able to tame her lust for violence in the upcoming rebellion? Or will they fall victim to it?
About The Author:
Christy Nicholas, also known as Green Dragon, has her hands in many crafts, including digital art, beaded jewelry, writing, and photography. In real life, she’s a CPA, but having grown up with art all around her (her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother are/were all artists), it sort of infected her, as it were. She loves to draw and to create things. She says it’s more of an obsession than a hobby. She likes looking up into the sky and seeing a beautiful sunset, or seeing a fragrant blossom or a dramatic seaside. She takes a picture or creates a piece of jewelry as her way of sharing this serenity, this joy, this beauty with others. Sometimes this sharing requires explanation – and thus she writes. Combine this love of beauty with a bit of financial sense and you get an art business. She does local art and craft shows, as well as sending her art to various science fiction conventions throughout the country and abroad.

Christmas has always been Kate O’Connor’s favorite time of the year, but this season—despite her battery-operated twinkle-light earrings—she’s feeling far from festive. In fact, she’s wallowing in a generous dose of self-pity over the loss of her father, the train wreck that was her engagement, and an unsavory setback in her career. To make matters worse, her boss at the Cline & Co. ad agency has volunteered her to be the one-woman welcoming committee for Gavin Whyte, the VIP client from across the pond who could be the key to saving their struggling business. Eager to prove she’s a team player, Kate resolves to show Gavin a good time, hoping his dazzling blue eyes, his delicious Irish accent, and her own propensity for disaster don’t cause her to torpedo the company’s chances of recovery.
