MY NEW RELEASE REVIEW of

ELOPING WITH THE PRINCESS

1679610310Brotherhood of the Sword Book #3

by Robyn DeHart

Entangled Publishing, LLC

Scandalous

Historical Fiction , Romance

Publisher’s Description:

A secret princess. A confirmed bachelor. A hasty wedding.

When a fellow member of the Brotherhood of the Sword drops off a mysterious lady in need of protection at the house of Viscount Jason Ellis, he agrees to keep her safe not fully knowing what that will entail. Once Isabel Crisp learns the truth of her identity, that she’s the last remaining member of the royal family from the island nation of Saldania, her world is tipped upside down.

A plot to usurp the throne from Victoria after a marriage comes to light. Isabel realizes rather quickly that if she were already married the men would not succeed with their plan. Jason reluctantly agrees to marry her, but in name only as he’s bound to learn the title to his brother’s son, the rightful heir. But keeping his hands off his tempting and willing wife proves too difficult and the passion between them ignites.

My Thoughts:

This is the final installment for this series. I read book #1 and this one is book #3.

This being the second book I have read in this series and the second book I have read by this author I am getting adjusted to her writing style.

I must admit that I didn’t like the first book I read, but found this one more enjoyable. The first thing that attracted my attention was the lovely cover. The title description also attracted my attention. I did recognize some characters from the previous read and it is important as I feel you need to have read at least part of this series to get the most out of this book. It does however read OK as a standalone.

Jason holds the title of Viscount but was actually fathered by someone other than the prior Viscount.
Knowing this has made him take a different path than most young noblemen.
He intends not to marry or sire any children that may succeed him to the title.

Isabel is a lost princess but doesn’t know this fact and thinks she is likely the illegitimate daughter of a nobleman. She has been hidden away in a girl’s school until this time.

When she lands in Jason’s care they decide that the best solution to keeping her safe is for he to marry. It seems the best choice for her groom is the very man who is now responsible for keeping her safe.

Will this unusual marriage lead to love or will they part ways after the people plotting the queen’s demise are caught.

This unusual storyline held my interest. I gave the storyline and character development 4.25 of 5 stars and a sensual rating of 3.75 of 5 flames.
This couple are very attracted to each other and act on this attraction but not immediately.
There are two physical encounters, one of which is heavy petting with nudity and one where their marriage is consummated.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

This 3 book series includes:

Meet Robyn:

robyn-dehart-e1348522915473I’m one of those writers who always knew that she wanted to be a writer. It took me a while, however, to figure out precisely what I wanted to write. Reading Kathleen Woodiwiss’ “A Rose in Winter” sealed the deal for me and I’ve been reading and writing romance ever since. I should have known I was destined for this when my Barbies insisted on hosting elaborate masquerade parties, complete with stolen kisses in the moonlight.

I’m the youngest of three children, so of course I’m the favorite. I was raised in central Texas, in the beautiful Hill Country, right smack-dab between Austin and San Antonio. My parents were high school sweethearts and married a week after my mother graduated – they both needed their parents’ permission to marry since they were so young. So I blame them and their amazing marriage for the fact that I’m a hopeless romantic.

Somewhere along the line, I graduated from college with a degree in Sociology, only after completing an internship with none other than award-winning best-selling author, Pamela Morsi. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life and I learned more about the writing business than I could have hoped.

After college I worked a myriad of jobs: Computer Software Trainer, Recruiter, Administrative Assistant. But no matter what my day job, I come home to my real job and click, click, click away on my computer and get lost in my imaginary world where justice always prevails and the girl always gets her guy! It’s the coolest job in the world.

I’m married to the most amazingly supportive man. He’s so proud of my career, and loves to tell people, “My wife is a romance novelist.” We live in the Austin area, where my husband is a university professor. He’s ridiculously smart, but remains goofy enough to make me laugh every day. We’re the parents of two beautiful and precocious little girls who keep me quite busy during the day. We also have two very spoiled cats who are of no help at all when it comes to my writing, although they sometimes nap in the same room where I sit diligently working.

I’ve published eleven historicals so far, all of which have received great reviews and a handful of them have won awards. I love to hear from readers, so feel free to send me an email or you can find me online at The Sisterhood of the Jaunty Quills, or, Peanut Butter on the Keyboard, my newest blogging endeavor that’s all about writing moms or moms who write. You can also find me on my Facebook or my Facebook Author page and on Twitter.

I’m everywhere!

Seventeen-year-old Aspen is a skydiving, rock climbing, adrenaline junky. All her life, she’s been fascinated by the dragons who roam near her home in Yellowstone Park. Yes, Dragons. Though no human has ever gotten close enough to touch one.

Except Aspen.

While most people avoid the national parks because of the resident dragons, Aspen spends most of her free time in search of the feared and misunderstood creatures. For her, studying the dragons is a way to escape a painful past and avoid getting too close to anyone.

She’d rather track dragons in the wild and through the lens of her camera than talk to real people. But then Aspen meets a hot new guy at school, Sid King. He’s the one person she’s ever met who shares her obsession with all things dragon. But even as she feels strangely drawn to the mysterious boy, she senses he’s hiding his own set of dark and powerful secrets.

When hikers start turning up dead in the park, everyone suspects the formidable predators. Unless Aspen can prove their innocence, every one of her beloved dragons is in danger of eradication.

After Aspen and Sid uncover a sinister plot behind the brutal attacks, Aspen can no longer deny that Sid somehow knows more about the deaths than he should and the secrets they both keep threaten to rip their lives apart forever.
