MY NEW RELEASE REVIEW of

Marrying the Wrong Earl

marrying.png

Lords and Ladies in Love #2

by Callie Hutton

Publisher’s Description:

Lady Arabella Danvers is happy with her life just the way it is. She is free to be herself and take care of broken and abandoned animals. Her mother is desperate for her to marry, and has decided to take things into her own hands. There is just one little problem with her plan.

Nash, the Earl of Clarendon has determined it is time to take a wife. He has selected a woman to whom he intends to propose. However, the annoying Lady Arabella has stumbled into his life at the wrong time, and in the wrong place.

But he of all people should know if Lady Arabella is involved, plans will go awry.

My Thoughts:

This rather comical at times story dragged me in from the opening chapter. It, however made me lose interest at one point shortly after the couple was married. It just didn’t have that same appeal but did regain it’s appealing nature later on in the book.
Lady Arabella Danvers is happy with her life as it is and has no wish for a husband. Her mother has other ideas, even going to the extreme of pairing her with men old enough to be her grandfather.
Nash, the Earl of Clarendon meets her under auspicious circumstances. Arabella is on her way to deliver one of her rescued cats to a new home when the feline escapes. Nash helps her to retrieve the cat and ends up none the worse for wear in the process.
I am an animal lover and the fact that Lady Arabella  was not only an animal lover but a rescuer of animals in need kept my interest.
Our hero however made me quite angry with him at times because of his insistence that she was
being selfish by keeping and tending the injuries of said animals and after their marriage not acting the part of his countess.
Will these two apparent adversaries find their way to their Happily Ever After or will they part due to their differences?
As I said, I did like this book but had problems with the storyline keeping my interest.
I gave this book 3.75 of 5 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 2.5 of 5 flames.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this title from the publisher via NetGalley to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this title and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
