My New Release Review of

To Tame a Wild Lady

A Duke-Defying Daughters Novel

by Ashlyn Macnamara

Publisher’s Description:

He’s a roughhewn bastard. She’s a rebellious noblewoman. Their passion bridges the class divide in a scintillating novel of forbidden desire and raw sensuality from the USA Today bestselling author of To Lure a Proper Lady.

Lady Caroline Wilde is expected to ride sidesaddle, but she’s not about to embrace convention. She’s also expected to keep a chaste distance from men like Adrian Crosby, the new estate agent, yet she cannot cease her ogling—which is especially irksome considering their ongoing feud. Adrian insists that the fields must be planted; Caro needs those same fields to train her horses. But whenever she tries to put him in his place, Caro looks into his steely gaze and her words simply . . . disappear.

A bastard son who grew up on the Wyvern estate, Adrian was lucky enough to receive an education at the behest of the late marchioness. Now that he has set out on his own, Adrian knows better than to fall for Lady Caroline, the Duke of Sherrington’s daughter. Caroline is at once a thorn in his side and an exquisite temptation, especially when she’s playing the feisty daredevil. Adrian would give anything for a chance to tame her—and with Caro in the saddle, he just might get his wish.

My Thoughts:

This is a well written story of a love that develops between two very unlikely people.

Our heroine is the middle daughter of a Duke.

Our hero is a bastard son of a tenant and a nobleman although he is unaware of his father’s identity.

Well born ladies just don’t fall for the hired help and the hired help know their place and would never dally with their employers’ daughters.

I liked this read very much. I have read other books by this author in the past and certainly will read more by her in the future. She always amazes me with her imagery and character development.
I would give this book 4 of 5 stars for storyline and characterization and 3.5 of 5 flames for heat.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this title.

Very well written, fast paced, and full of secrets… A cracking good adventure! —Historical Novel Society

Publisher’s Description:

The story arc of this boxed set spans three full-length novels set in aristocratic 1760s London, and features amateur sleuth Alec, Lord Halsey.

In book one, DEADLY ENGAGEMENT, Alec is unwittingly caught up in country house murder and mayhem at an engagement party where he finally confronts his estranged brother.

Some months later, in DEADLY AFFAIR, a vicar drops dead beside Alec at a private dinner party, forcing him to investigate the death of this seemingly harmless man of God and his surprising connection to the mysterious Miranda.

In DEADLY PERIL Alec is lured away to Europe by a mad margrave and his sister who hold his friends to ransom in the remote and forbidding Castle Hertzfeld. In a race against time, Alec and the English delegation journey across an icy wasteland devastated by civil war to “a gob smacking finale you’ll never see coming”.

Praise For This Series:

I challenge anyone to read DEADLY ENGAGEMENT and not crave more from the handsome Alec Halsey with his high sense of morals, dark good looks, and divine analytical mind.” —Francine Zane, Readers’ Favorite, rated 5 STARS

Lucinda Brant has crafted a clever and intriguing mystery in DEADLY AFFAIR, which very skilfully pulls together seemingly disparate plot threads to reach a thoroughly satisfying conclusion with plot twists I most definitely didn’t see coming. I am hooked and eager for more.” —Caz Owens, All About Romance, rated a DESERT ISLE KEEPER

Every one is worthy of five stars, but DEADLY PERIL is possibly the best yet. It is, quite simply, a perfect combination of mystery, romance, and history.” —Lady Wesley, Romantic Historical Reviews, rated 5 STARS

Lucinda Brant’s mysteries explore the darker side of her richly authentic 18th century world. Along with her trademark wit and high drama there are deeper subplots and even quirkier characters that will have you shuddering and laughing in equal measure!
