A Scottish scoundrel…
Gerard Highgate, Marquess of Rockport and the ton’s most aloof rake, knows better than to wed an Englishwoman, especially one as prickly as Lady Cordelia. But when his mother dies and he finds himself saddled with her debts, he needs a wife and he needs one fast.

Gerard Highgate, Marquess of Rockport, is not the type to attend balls. But when he is chased into a home in Harrogate, he decides he must blend in–even if that means dancing with Lady Cordelia.

An exacting Englishwoman…
Lady Cordelia knows that hastiness in husband hunting leads to mistakes. But when she visits an aristocrat to warn that his life might be in danger, he misinterprets her suggestion to flee to Scotland.

Lady Cordelia was supposed to be the perfect debutante. But three broken engagements later, she’s the subject of titters rather than laudations. Now relegated to the wallflower section of every ballroom, she does not want anything to plummet her further into scandal. She absolutely does not want to have anything to do with the too handsome, too roguish, too Scottish Marquess of Rockport.

An unexpected elopement…
Most elopements are born of love, not misunderstanding. Cordelia and Gerard have already broken that rule, but perhaps they can still make their marriage one of love.

The only thing Lady Cordelia and Lord Rockport can agree on is their mutual abhorrence.
About The Author:
Born in Texas, Wellesley graduate Bianca Blythe spent four years in England. She worked 57e809270f770in a fifteenth century castle, though sadly that didn’t actually involve spotting dukes and earls strutting about in Hessians.

She credits British weather for forcing her into a library, where she discovered her first Julia Quinn novel. Thank goodness for blustery downpours.

Bianca now lives in Massachusetts with her boyfriend, though she will admit to craving warm scones and clotted cream. She’s not certain she can admit to reading about handsome, roguish dukes, at least in a location where her boyfriend might stumble upon the fact.

But if any readers are stumbling upon this, rest assured that she does write about rather swoon worthy heroes!

My Thoughts:
This is book #2 in this series by this relatively new author.
I haven’t  read book #1 but I have read the novella which was sandwiched between book #1 and this one. Both are wonderfully written with excellent characterization and very good story lines. There are multiple twists and turns and a surprise around every corner.
This is a story of opposites that don’t attract.  You wonder from the start how exactly these two will come to love each other. They just don’t suite as we expect our hero and heroine to have something remarkable in common.
In one situation after another, the author creates roadblocks for this unconventional couple. I looked forward to the next page to see where it would finally lead them. The pair fights against evil constantly.  I enjoyed the story from page one.
I would give this book 4.5 starsfour-half-stars-for-brent-weeks for character development and story and look forward to future endeavors from Bianca Blythe.
I would give it a 3.5 heat ratingflame-torch-mdflame-torch-mdflame-torch-md.5
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this title via Netgalley. This in no way affected my opinion of this book.57e8095991cea

Hot New Regency Romance

Red never shies away from a challenge but Miss Hannah St. John is too much of a challenge even for him. Somehow earl-turned-smuggler finds himself roped into helping her transport an apparently important artifact across England. Their adventure certainly doesn’t run smoothly.

Meet the Earl of Redmere in the 1st book in the Rogues of Redmere series, a brand new Regency romance series by #1 bestselling author Samantha Holt.

Red never shies away from a challenge.

But when Miss Hannah St. John strides into his life demanding—yes, demanding—he help her, he’s certain she’s more challenge than even he can handle.

Hannah is determined to transport an artifact from France—one that will change everything—even if it means working with a lawless man like Red. Nothing is more important than preserving history.

Not even the touch of a smuggler who inconceivably makes her stomach twist.

When it becomes clear the irritating bluestocking will do anything for this blasted artifact and needs saving from herself, the earl-turned-smuggler steps in.

Carting a cursed stone across the country with a know-it-all woman is not Red’s idea of fun, particularly when their journey runs far from smoothly…so why does he find himself enjoying her company just a little too much?

You’re the Rogue that I Want is book 1 in the Rogues of Redmere series. It can be read as a standalone story and has a HEA. It includes some steamy content.

About The Author:

Mischelle Creager writes inspirational historical romances set in the mid-1800s. She’s not sure which she loves more—researching or writing. When she’s not doing one of those two things, she can probably be found reading or baking.

She is a wife whose wonderful husband told her, when he retired several years ago, that he wanted to support her in her writing and took over all the household chores, including sweeping, dusting, and laundry. He even cleans up for her after she bakes! Her son and daughter are always available to help with social media questions.

Mischelle loves to share her historical research and has a website, Under The Attic Eaves, filled with tidbits she’s found in books written in the 19th Century. She also “reprints” a historical magazine, Worbly’s Family Monthly Magazine, filled with items from books and magazines published in the middle of the 1800s. You can visit these two sites at and .

If you would like to know more about Mischelle and her family, please visit her blog, Families Across the Generations at or her website at
