MARRIAGE TO A NOBLEMAN?
NOT IN HER WILDEST DREAMS. . .
The daughter of a disgraced woman and a common actor, Madelyn Swann has been shunned by the nobility. No proper lady would traipse about on a Covent Garden stage, let alone sell herself at auction to the highest bidder. So why in heaven’s name would Nathan Atwood, Viscount Rowley, make a generous offer for her hand?
Turns out Maddy is exactly the type of woman Nathan wants as his wife. Finally, he can embarrass his snobbish and cruel father, the Earl of Gilmore—and scandalize London society—with his beautiful, unsuitable bride. Then he’ll depart England forever and leave his wife behind. Having secret plans of her own, Maddy is happy to play the role … only to find that enjoying her husband’s seduction requires no acting whatsoever. But as she falls madly in love with Nathan, can she persuade him to stay with her for always?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Shortly after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in journalism, Olivia Drake sold her first novel two weeks after sending it to a publisher. She now lives in Texas in a cozy cottage with a feisty cat, a loving husband, and two wonderful daughters who still come back whenever they want a home-cooked meal.
Many of you already know Olivia as Barbara Dawson Smith, author of 24 historical romance novels. She is a New York Times bestseller and winner of numerous honors, including the Golden Heart Award and the coveted Rita Award for excellence in the historical romance genre.
Olivia Drake is the author of 8 books including the Cinderella Sisterhood series: IF THE SLIPPER FITS, STROKE OF MIDNIGHT, ABDUCTED BY A PRINCE, BELLA AND THE BEAST, and HIS WICKED WISH. Another book in the series will be out in 2017. She also has written 24 romance novels under the name Barbara Dawson Smith. Her books have won the Golden Heart Award, Best Historical Romantic Suspense, Best Regency Historical, and the prestigious Rita Award from Romance Writers of America. She lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband and a pair of feisty cats. Her two daughters have flown the nest, but they still come back whenever they want a home-cooked meal.
This is a wonderfully written story with a well developed storyline and characters.
Who would imagine our heroine would cook up and carry out such a scheme and our hero using her scheme to scandalize his father. How will their unorthodox beginning play out.
I loved this book. I would give it a very lofty 4.75 star rating.
I had not previously read anything by this author but I will be sure to be on the lookout for future offerings.
I received this book courtesy of the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Since reviewing this book I have had the pleasure to read and review another of this author’s books from the same series, “Bella and the Beast” which I read and reviewed in July. I didn’t like it as much as “His Wicked Wish“ but it was good none the less.

OVERVIEW FROM AMAZON:
Broken hearts aren’t always broken. Sometimes they’re just bruised.
Tired of thinking about her worthless ex-boyfriend and the humiliating way in which they parted, Martha Bigalow goes on a hike hoping that the dramatic hills of the English Lake District will help her to forget him. But as she crosses an ancient set of stepping stones, she slips and falls into an angry river.
Time Travel. Sideways.
She wakes in cave, wearing nothing but her dodgy, mismatched underwear. Her only company is the man who saved her life: a tall, dark, and disturbingly attractive stranger named Vadim. Too bad he’s a medieval re-enactor gone feral. Or so she assumes.
Crazy dream or not, it soon becomes clear that when she fell into the river she left the twenty-first century far behind… and medieval Erde is nothing like home.
Now, all that stands between her and almost certain death is the crazy man with the sword. And then he offers her his protection… with the role of his “wife.”
Vadim is a wanted man. An outlaw.
The last thing he needs are any complications of the female kind, but then he happens upon a strangely attired woman lying beside the river…
Martha is bold, outspoken, and altogether irreverent, and every instinct he has warns him to abandon her… only he cannot. Her allure is already much too strong. Against his better judgement, despite all the risks, Vadim offers to help Martha find her way home.
Until then, Martha must adapt to medieval society, steer clear of the Evil Earl and his minions, and maybe—just maybe—learn how to trust her heart again.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
N.J. Layouni has been weaving stories all of her life–even before she could actually write. For many years, she was a dedicated ‘closet writer’, and as a result, the attic space of her home is stuffed to the rafters with piles of ageing manuscripts depicting fantastical romantic adventures, tales of daring sword-wielding heroes, and of strong, feisty damsels who aren’t too tough to accept a helping hand sometimes.
As well as being a mouthpiece for the various characters living inside her head, N.J. is a wife, and mother of two children. She lives in Lancashire, UK. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found on one of her regular online hangouts:
