Review of Recent Release “A Marquis for Mary” by Jess Michaels

Mary Quinn’s time is running out. She managed to escape the overbearing, callous house of her father for the last four Seasons, but through no fault of her own remains unmarried. Her father sold her sister into marriage twice before and Mary knows if she does not marry this Season, then her father will reclaim control of her life and force her to marry whichever Lord will take her.

Lord Edward Woodley has hidden himself from society since the tragic death (and secret suicide) of his late wife. But now he is forced to re-emerge in order to find a bride and begin the task of producing heirs for the title. A chance encounter with enchanting Mary Quinn on the terrace at a ball quickly turns into a forced marriage that may just work in both their favors.

This is a short, sweet, sexy and well written Novella. It serves as a transition into Jess Michaels new series the Wicked Woodleys . Since we have seen both the Hero and the Heroine in previous books of this series we came to know and perhaps love or hate them there. I felt I got a new insight into what they were about. Edward is not wicked and Mary is much more complex than may have been perceived from the “The Widow Wager” book #3.

My Review:

I give this story 4.5 stars. It is very good and adds to the already wonderful series. It however can be read as a stand alone because the characters are well developed and interesting.

My only Disappointment in this series was another novella, ” No Gentleman for Georgina” book #4 . That one just never JELLED for me.

I received this book for free from the Author through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
