“A Highlander’s Passion”
I liked the book, although I could have done without some of the rather salty language use. My favorite character was the precocious five year old daughter of our book hero. Like all children her age she seems to say the most outlandish things at the most inopportune times. You will split your sides laughing at her antics.
Kenzie Denune has always loved the hot Scottish bear shape shifter, Bryce Matheson. They have been in each other’s life since they were very young. After a period of mourning for his wife, she and Bryce became a couple. She was finally happy and in love, until he decided that they should not be together anymore. He left her feeling abandoned and unloved. Grief stricken, she turned to a man who she thought loved her, only to discover he was a good-for-nothing drunk who abused her both physically and emotionally. After one of those beatings she lost a child that was fathered by Bryce before her marriage to her wife beating no good now deceased husband. After a second miscarriage and feeling destitute she goes to work for an American who turns out to be her Wiccan mentor. She has been told by doctors that it is unlikely she will ever have children.
I received this book free of charge from NetGalley and the publisher Random House/Loveswept so I may leave an honest review.
